Ryoku arrives in a new spirit realm amid friends new and old. Originally guided by Kioru Rasale, he finds quick friends among Will Ramun and his squad from Syaoto, as well as the fiery swordstress Sira Jessura and the timid mage Lusari Atella.
Ryoku carries mostly a bright outlook on life despite a tragic past and the state of his home world. While unable to wield a proper sword, he grows adept with knives, staves, and bow & arrow in its stead. He forges close bonds with many of his allies. His sense of humor is largely dry, a favorite of Sira Jessura, but he can take matters seriously often.
Ryoku is a Defender, meaning he can cross between the land of the living and the spirit realm freely. Fellow Defenders and close friends of his include Katiel Fereyen, Annalia Rikalla, and Dawn Elethel. The latter two carry a romantic history with Ryoku, while he is best friends with Katiel.
In the spirit realm, Ryoku has two main goals. He seeks to reunite with his sister, Roxanne. To do so, he seeks the aid of a boy who sought him out in the land of the living, Chris Olestine. However, the place most likely to hold Chris captive is none other than the dark empire of Orden, Sira’s previous home and a certain enemy of Ryoku.
