Alex Retton – Blog #7, April 22nd, 2019

Hello! Today, I’ll be covering one of the minor characters in the Sovereign Soul universe. The fledgling soldier, Alex Retton.

Alex is a fairly developed character debuting in Act One. He serves as a novice-rank Syaoto soldier, making Will Ramun his superior and far outranked by the likes of Lancet Cooper. Despite his diminutive rank, Alex has a tendency to speak out of line and often incurs the wrath of his superiors. Will and Oliver Rouge, another higher-ranked soldier, spend a lot of time chastising Alex and attempting to teach him the need for respect. He is close friends with Will and Leif Cartos, another of Will’s rank, and is on a first-name basis with the likes of Lord Commander Brom Gerenadh and King Lionel Pendragon.

Alex looks up to his superiors, but fails to see the need for fancy titles and full names as a sign of respect. He is not fond of Lancet and will profess this to any who would listen. In addition to his rebellious tendencies, Alex is a lover of women and claims to have crushes on characters like Caryl and Lusari. While older than Ryoku by a year, he acts childish at times and prefers to have fun in serious times.
