Hey all! Today I’m going to talk about a Sovereign Soul character surrounded by quite a bit of mystery – Sorha.
When she first appears in Book One: Akin Minds, she doesn’t immediately give her name or explain why she’s there – her sole intent is to pester Ryoku, threatening him to bring out his demon. Ryoku’s only minutely aware of his demon at this point, tripling his confusion of the affair. So who is Sorha, anyway?
One thing immediately apparent is this: Sorha is a demon, one of certain explicable talent who seems connected to Advocatos. She’s the one meant to be betrothed to Advocatos, making her the princess of demons. Although her initial powers seem mostly sexual in nature, great power lies beneath the surface. We don’t know much about Advocatos’ family just yet, but… is it possible Sorha was picked as his fiancée for more than just attraction reasons?
Sorha has dark orange hair trimmed in a cute bob around her head, opal eyes, and accentuated facial features Ryoku immediately describes as attractive, even as he sees her as an enemy. She has some demonic features, including orange stripes across her arms, chest, and legs, and a matching tail. Ryoku relates her personality to the popular girls from school, though she seems to personally enjoy bugging Ryoku – even without Advocatos involved. The real scope of her power is untold. She helps the group a bit later as matters start getting serious, but these battles are nothing to her until the later trials of Book Two: Serpentine Empire. Maybe we’ll see her at her full strength sooner than later…
Now, in terms of character posts, I’ve gone over all characters up to the end of Act Four, so stay tuned! The next blog posts will start covering more plot-heavy characters, and for minor characters I’ll start to batch them together in bigger posts. I’m going to be trying a few new things with this blog, including plotting a series of worldbuilding posts…
