Hello all! It’s been a bit, and I wanted to drop in with some updates.
I likely left some of my readers with a bit of a cliffhanger on my last entry. After a mostly successful NaNoWriMo, I was sitting at 99% completion for my 2nd book. And the verdict? Well, I finished it! (Like a day or two after I posted last…)
That’s right – Sovereign Soul Book 2: Embers of Lars is finished! I’m well into the editing phase, and we’re gearing up for a fall/winter 2024 release! And yeah, you might have also noticed that it’s got a new title. Compared to what some faithful readers might know, Book 2 is almost unrecognizable from its old version in more ways than one! After going through a few concepts, I sat down and really put some thought into it, so that title is finalized!
There are a couple factors about the upcoming release that are a bit less cut-and-dry. First of all, Book 2 will be released through a new publisher different than Book 1. I’ll post more details about this when the time comes up, but I’m happy to say a lot more of the details will be in my control this time.
Secondly, unfortunately, I’ll be looking for a new cover artist for Book 2. I was dearly hoping to commission the same artist who did Book 1’s phenomenal cover, but unfortunately, some personal issues with my artist have prevented that from becoming a reality. So, for the time being, I’m seeking a new cover artist capable of closely emulating the first cover in a new visual. There’s a small chance this will reach somebody like that, so anyone with questions can get a hold of me personally and we can discuss art!
I’m also potentially seeking out some talented beta readers for Book 2’s final phase. If anyone’s interested, please also let me know!
In the aspect of game design and development, there will be some tangible news shortly. I’m withholding from splurging on information while still in the very early phases, but I’ll post as soon as something more corporeal becomes a reality. I am seeking out the talents of a few game design artists, namely for pixel-art and character design, sound design, and another skilled coder would also be highly beneficial, but these concepts are in a very early stage right now. I promise to update with some more news when I have it!
That’s all for now – expect some updates closer to Summer with the progression of Book 2!
