Embers of Orden Available & Sales Update – Blog #79, September 20th, 2024

Hello all, and welcome to the BIGGEST update about Embers of Orden – paperback is available now!

You can find it on Amazon right here – both the KIndle and Paperback versions are available now, and other retailers will be rolling out in the next few weeks, like Indigo and Barnes & Noble. The Amazon link should work for all parts of the world, but print-to-order might take some time yet – the next few weeks will see it readily available.

Although the release was somewhat botched by my publisher, Akin Minds will still be going on some kind of sale in the next few weeks for a period of 2 weeks. I’ll let readers know when that one is up for sale!

In the future, it is highly likely that Embers of Orden won’t be on sale at any point – I’ve absolutely minimized what I make from this beast of a book to keep the price under control. At its current price point, if I reduce it, I’ll be OWING royalties to the publisher – it’s backwards, I know and am fully aware, but at least it’s out. The biggest thing readers can do to support me on this road is to read my books – that’s all I want!

Book 3: Remnant Shadows is making significant progress, but I regret to say I likely won’t be returning to Tellwell for its release. In the past, when I had an issue with a publisher, I sought to republish all my books through them, but that costs a lot of time, effort, and money to rerelease them all under a new author. That, and I’m very happy with their new cover art.

KDP is also not an option, given their archaic page count limitations (Embers of Orden would’ve had to be cut in half to work!) and I’m not fond of the hurdles we’re expected to jump through for traditional publishers. It’s like job-hunting, but my resume is literally my life’s work. So I’ll find another way, and I’ll see to it that Remnant Shadows is released in its prime form.

There are deleted scenes from Embers of Orden that I’ll be discussing in the future as well. A couple of them were regrettably important, but can be moved to Embers of Orden as flashback scenes. Others might eventually become available online in some form or another, I’m still debating this. In total, 80 pages were removed to make it what it is today.

I’ll be receiving my first copy relatively soon and I’ll post a picture when I get it! I’m personally excited for it, I love the cover and the massive size of this beastly book, and I’m very happy with how it turned out in the end, all hurdles aside.
