Stormwrought Resurgence – Blog #97, June 11th, 2025

Two weeks ago, I talked about the release of Embers of Orden in August 2024 and how it was a huge milestone, setting the tone for the rest of the series.

That enormous book – 1,198 pages – was an enormous feat, but couldn’t be that massive tome forever. It was too expensive, too big for readers to hold well in their hands. Imagine reading that lying on your back and it falls on your face? We’re probably talking a broken nose.

So the book had to be split up. The first half retained the name Embers of Orden, and I showcased that new cover two weeks ago. This week, I’m here with news about the second half of it, newly named Stormwrought.

So, without further ado, here it is – Stormwrought.

“Every minute that I fight you… is a minute you aren’t winning.” – Kijahd, STORMWROUGHT

Over on VGen, the wonderful artist Amaimanis produced this piece as well as the cover for Embers. This story picks off immediately after the end of Stormwrought in the world of Rune, leading to the conclusion of the original book.

Features:

  • 716 newly formatted pages, sleek and clean
  • One previously deleted scene restored
  • Beautiful new cover!
  • Updated Dramatis Personae and new Pronunciation Guide!
  • A short preview of Ruinbound!
  • Much more affordable!

The benefits to these changes are endless, and I hope my readers can dive into this newly reformed book with boundless love and appreciation.

Stay tuned – within the week, this book will be appearing on Indigo. When it appears, all the data and price should be correct.

(And yes, we’re still wrestling with KDP. More on that can be seen on my Twitter)

Stay tuned over the next few weeks. Leading up to the release of Ruinbound on June 21st, we’ll be unveiling the brand new cover for it right here. Did you catch the book trailer posted online? If not, you can go see it right here! I’d love to hear what you think of the new cover – does it embody the Stormwrought vibe as beautifully as you imagined?
