A thousand years before the events of Sovereign Soul was when the hero Ryoku Dragontalen came to be. Born from a mysterious man from the south who fell in love with a recluse from the forest, he lived much of his early life as shrouded from the world as the grass in the shade of trees, and served as a guide to travelers in the boreal Norok Forest.
That is, until a knight of Glaciem arrived in Norok – Ronan Burrblade – in search of the old knight Oronest, who retired in Norok. His arrival sparks a chain of events revealing ageless secrets in the woods, and Ryoku must learn the truth of the outside world in order to survive.
In a cave buried within Norok Forest, Ryoku crosses paths with two emissaries from kingdoms of Laia who also sought out the knight: Kimo Goldenhart of Meribelle, and Katiel Fereyen of Selenzora. At the egg of the last dragon, they uncover the secrets of gifted magic – a weapon that just might save their world.
Six great demons control Laia, split apart into regions forcibly kept from contact. In order to seek freedom, discover the truth about himself, and avenge those he loves, Ryoku must rise from his humble beginnings and wrest control of each region from each demon, and discover a deep and surreal truth – that change is possible by anyone’s hands.
