Harohto, the Feudal World

  • Size: Medium
  • Population: Medium
  • Era: Feudal Japan/Medieval Europe
  • Seasons: Normal
  • Familiarity: Earth-like
  • Language: Harohtoian ( simple, rustic)
  • Monikers: The beginner’s world, the ‘Capital of Boredom’.

As far as is known, Harohto is split into two continents. In Akin Minds, Ryoku travels in the northern continent to reach the Capital. It is known that the northern continent was at war with the south about ten years prior.

Since most of the northern continent is made up of cliffs and higher elevation, only one city truly has access to methods of exploring the sea. The above map is according to their discoveries and sightings.

Prominent Locations:

NORTH CONTINENT

  • Bytold: A small village south of the Old Forest. Much of its trade value comes from the fishing and logging trades.
  • Bytold Woods: The forest surrounding Bytold’s southern edge. Much smaller and newer than the Old Forest.woods. The forest is protected by its Keeper.
  • Deep Grottos: Bytold Woods eventually give way to these woods that dip below sea level in the southern crook of Harohto’s northern continent. The forest is named for the unusual habit of trees growing atop one another in a climbing fashion, giving an even greater meaning to being ‘deep in the woods’.
  • Harohto Capital: the capital city of Harohto, nestled in the north-western region of the northern continent. A large city constantly under threat of raiders. Travelers from the south must pass through the Old Forest to enter. A prominent magic school operates here. All soldiers of the northern continent are trained here as well, though the Capital remains short handed against the raider threat.
  • Lynnport: A bustling city in the lower east corner of the main continent. Seen as the navy capital of Harohto.
  • Old Forest: A vast forest completing much of the midwestern part of the north continent between the Capital and Bytold. It is dubbed the Old Forest for the timeless age of the woods. Many sorts of monsters and ancestral beings make their home here.

SOUTH CONTINENT

  • Boeel – southern farming village.
  • Craggshall – southern dwarven kingdom shared with humans. Known often as the land of mud due to the heavy rainfall and earthy terrain.
  • Döykarn – settlements spanning the plains alongside Silv’ron. Some of the most prosperous southern land and a supplant of the southern armies.
  • Forgotten Tower – an abandoned tower in the Typhoenexian lands. As they do not dwell there, it is wondered who it belonged to and who built the massive structure. It can be seen from Nethgil, but the land is too well patrolled to allow access.
  • G’hthug – northern dwarven kingdom hidden within the mountains. Home to warlords and mercenaries aplenty. Highly prosperous.
  • Grilth – most dangerous city in the south. Infamous for high crimes rates and supplying more than three quarters of Silv’ron’s prisoners.
  • Ikkis – Typhoenexian settlement. Effectively stops most from getting closer to their kingdom. Infamous for Typhoenexian bandits.
  • Ivis – elven settlement of isolation. Trades only with Silv’ron and controls passage into the Gytthwe.
  • Lloider – southern prosperous city, Lloider is inhabited only by nobles who consider the Döykarn common folk to be contaminant.
  • Merriorn – called the hidden kingdom by some due to its inaccessibility. Prosperous, though, because of their trade with the dwarves and access to minerals. Its most well known feature is its library and magic school – likely the only kind of people who can reach this clifftop city with ease.
  • Nethgil – dwarven mountain settlement known by many as the Watchtower. Situated high in the mountains to oversee the dwarven lands.
  • Silv’ron – kingdom once run by elves, now shared with humans. Southern Continent’s most established port city and known to have the strongest navy.
  • Siyyas – Typhoenexian kingdom, though precious few have seen its walls due to their isolation and harsh climate.
  • Southpoint – Human port settlement. Known as the least popular port in Harohto, since little but three towns remain on the coast below the mountains.

OTHER ISLES

  • Arthram – located on one of the smaller islands south of Lynnport. A bustling port city seen as a trade center between the continents.
  • Gallov – known as the most diverse city in Harohto, a meeting point between races.
  • Luc – village on Arthram Isle between the continents, standing on the cliffside above the ocean. Home to many experienced divers.
  • Silver Isle Villages – a few small villages on a rocky island, banded together to share the profits of great mines in exchange for necessary supplies.
  • Syllic – port manned by a village of underwater Arozians. Little is seen above land.
  • Tali Village – located on a small island of rock cliffs. Home of a small band of Typhoenexians that communicate with the Capital. Also home to Harohto’s most notorious pirates.
