Special Abilities:
Kai learns how to use his emblem to cross worlds. With practice, the emblem later displays an array of abilities. The ability to cross worlds is wrecked if Kai loses focus, but even this is patched up later.
Fighting Skills:
Kai is moderately skilled as a swordsman, though his skills are notoriously flashy and he isn’t afraid to fight dirty. He virtually refuses to cross swords with a woman. Other than sword skills, Kai’s latent combat skills are largely untrained.
Preferred Weapon:
Xavier’s Scimitar: Inherited in Xavier’s will, the weapon may be linked to the Icebane family and is a royal heirloom in Brooklyn. Kai is proficient with it and struggles to use any other weapon, even similar swords.
Weaknesses:
Kai is notorious for refusing to fight women and even getting distracted by them in battle. On the flip side, he’ll often show off for nearby women. He lacks most combat skills and any real combat training. He is a little more tactful than Ryoku, but pales in comparison to strategists like Kajad or Relus.
Strengths:
Kai is a decent swordsman, but hardly comparable to any trained soldier. His true strengths lie in lying, deception, acting, and games of the royal court. His hidden skill is his wealth of information in survival and outdoors skills.
History:
As Kai’s backstory begins, he travels the woods with his father, honing his combat and survival skills while living off the land. For his tenth birthday, his dad brings him to the big city of Angeles, where the Glaciem Troupe is performing. While his father confesses to having big plans for Kai’s future, Kai disagrees and runs away, choosing instead to join the Glaciem Troupe under Xavier’s wing.
Learning the arts of acting from brilliant minds like Xavier and Nova, Kai flourishes into a renowned actor and lives a luxurious life, partying with the troupe and traveling the world. He develops a crush on Lisa and takes on unrealistic expectations of being with her.
After spending eight years in the troupe, it becomes evident that Xavier is dying. Kai is blind to it, but on his 19th birthday, he can no longer ignore it. He celebrates his 19th birthday as an official Glaciemite, sleeps with Lisa, and is gifted Xavier’s sword along with a grievous speech. But, on the following morning, news spreads that Xavier succumbed to illness and passed away. Devastated, the Glaciem Troupe disbands for good, leaving Kai in the dust.
Kai wanders for a long time before finally settling into the Alpha Dominatica theater group, a small band that pales in comparison to the Glaciem Troupe. For a time, Kai almost forgets about his days of glory… until the night a mysterious stranger seeks him out.
